Door To Door Service
Door to service means less trauma for your animal in the stressful stages of being transported as they are put directly into a cage at their place (no change necessary) and delivered to their new home with one-on-one care while on the move. It also provides a hassle free, convenient service for the sender and receiver as they are not having to meet at designated locations to try and arrange the transfer of pet which also means that there is less chance of your animal escaping.

Our custom-built cages ensure your pet is as comfortable and secure as possible for the duration of their journey. During their entire journey, the animals are fed, watered and exercised as is appropriate to the animals needs so you know that they are as happy and comfortable as we can make them.

Your pet’s bio security is at the forefront of all our thinking with every animal health checked prior to boarding. Visibly sick animals are rejected to ensure that your pet is safe and only healthy animals are onboard in our transport vehicle. In addition to this being classified as an essential service, I have the required permits to travel into all states and operate under Covid rules and regulations.

BALLARAT PET TRANSPORT is owned and operated by me, Cherie Reid. I have been around animals all my life and am extremely passionate about them.
After working in an office for most of my life, I was ready for a change. I decided to start my own business that combined two of my favourite things which as driving and animals. Ballarat Pet Transport gives me the ability to see Australia and make sure that your pet transport experience is as simple and hassle free as possible.
Ballarat Pet Transport was initially started to help people get their animals to vets but then it grew into the transporting as I got the urge to hit the road more. For me the best part is when I get the new pets to their new family and see the joy on all their faces.
Animal care and protection run deep in my blood. I have been a registered wildlife rescuer and carer for over 15years. For the past ten years I have also been the co-founder of a very successful small animal rescue in Ballarat so I am experienced with a variety of animals.
Location
We service all of Victoria and do two trips a month to South Australia plus are happy to travel interstate if need be.

Frequently Asked Questions
The cost of booking a Pet transport with Ballarat Pet Transport depends on distance of the trip, time taken to complete the booking, where it is a Day or Night trip, any extra wait time, special care requirements etc. You can get a quote specific to your needs by clicking on our ‘Get A Quote ‘ Button.
You may be eligible for discounts if you have a coupon code, pension discount or multiple pets.
All drivers are Police Checked, hold an Australian Driver's License, and are insured, and trained in animal handling.
For puppies and kittens it would be great if you could send a blanket or toy that has the smell of mum and siblings on it.. A little bit of the food they are being fed if it is an overnight trip would also be appreciated. i do have food for all types of animals but some puppies or kittens can have sensitive stomachs especially while being transported.
Up to 28 days in advance. I am very flexible and depending on already booked jobs I may be able to organise the transport within a couple of days notice.
To avoid car sickness, Pet Owners should not feed pets for a couple of hours before a car trip, as vomiting food becomes more likely if food is in the stomach. Once in the car, allowing fresh air and enabling the dog to see through a window may help alleviate motion sickness in some dogs. If your pet is prone to vomiting during transport and they vomit, you may be required to pay for a clean up fee.
Each trip I plan I do check what options there are for mechanical repairs should it be needed. I have other drivers I can call on to continue a run if need be and do have RACV roadside assistance.
If your pet gets sick, we will attempt to contact the person responsible for paying to advise them of what is going on. From here we will transport your pet to the nearest emergency vet to make sure that they receive the attention they need to save their life.
We do not have the ability for you to do this but there will be regular text updates provider during the trip. We also send follow-up texts after the trip just to make sure everything is ok.
